Banwell Skills English HOMEWORK
We get almost all of our reading and writing accomplished in the classroom. However, students in Skills English will have 10 spelling words to study each week. The tests are on Friday.

Banwell Regular English HOMEWORK
Students should read a personal reading book EACH NIGHT for 10-15 minutes as homework. Students have a spelling assignment that is due every Wednesday. The spelling test is on Friday. Corrections of spelling tests must be in by the Thursday after the test. Occasionally, students may have a rough or final draft to complete as homework. I will post that information as needed.

Banwell Diff. English HOMEWORK
Students should read a personal reading book EACH NIGHT for 10-15 minutes as homework. When we read stories and books as a class, they will need to do some of that reading as homework. I will post that information as needed. Students have a spelling/Latin assignment that is due every Wednesday. The spelling/Latin test is on Friday. Corrections of spelling/Latin tests must be in by the Thursday after the test. Occasionally, students may have a rough or final draft to complete as homework. I will post that information as needed.

Thank you for checking the Homework Hotline. Students are
expected to
write in their planner the updates, objectives and homework in
every
class. The following is what is usually due. I will assist students
if they have an excused absence in their catch up work and
assignments when they return to school.

Math: Students will have a Math sheet for homework almost
everyday.
We will use class time before tests to review the objectives. We will
also
spend the day after tests for reteaching, relearning, and retesting
if necessary. As a reminder, homework and daily practice counts
for
20% of the grade and tests count for 80%.

Language Arts: 20 minutes of personal reading is encouraged
daily.
Spelling/vocabulary tests are usually on Fridays. Students are given
time in class for writing and reading assignments. Occasionally a
student that might not read and write at grade level or does not
use
their time in class efficiently might need to complete an
assignment
at home. Some students choose to type or write in pen, a final draft
of writing at home, but this is by choice only.

Social Studies: Thursdays we have current events. The student is
expected to bring an article from the newspaper, a magazine, from
the internet, or a something they heard on the news. They must
write why they chose the particular item and why it is interesting to
them. It must be something that we can discuss as a class and not
the score from a weekend football game. We will have a chapter
test on most Fridays. Students should have a study guide for each
chapter that they can review the night before tests. We will
also review at school.
