QAR - Question Answer Relationship All teachers at Goodrich use a form of QAR to help improve reading comprehension.

Word Webs Word webs are taught to students to assist them in learning and remembering new vocabulary words.

Chart to Assist Reading Comprehension. This site provides a chart that is a useful checklist to make sure you know what you just read.

Strategies for Reading Comprehension This site contains 26 strategies to use while reading to improve comprehension.

Reading Comprehension Practice This site contains many practice exercises that resemble standardized tests. The program is set up to give you feedback of correct answers and what to work on.

Graphic Organizers This site provides a variety of ways to draw in an organized fashion what you have just learned by reading. Graphic organizers may also help you organize something that you are writing.

The Reading Zone The Reading Zone is a little like the fiction section at a public library. You can find links to on-line stories and also learn more about your favorite books and authors.

Houghton Mifflin Grades 6-8 Houghton Mifflin provides many resources for students to use on-line.

Parents' Place Houghton Mifflin provides ideas for parents to work with their children on reading.
