Goodrich and the Community Learning Center provide a variety
of after school activities to enrich a student≠s educational experiences. Student Council, intramurals, Science
Olympiad, Math Counts, and clubs are some of the many opportunities to positively
connect to school. Research shows that
students who are involved in school-related activities after school do better
academically during the day! Please
contact Benjamin Pederson, CLC Site Supervisor, (436-1987 or benjaminpederson@yahoo.com for more information.
In order to participate in after-school or evening
activities the student needs to be in attendance during the day. If a student
is suspended from school, in In-School Supervision or absent for another reason
(other than being involved in a school activity) the student may not
participate.
Student Council
1. The Student
Council is the representative government of the student body. Students
volunteer to be on the council. 2. Membership of the
Student Council consists of representatives from each grade level.
3. The council
serves the student body by discussing student and faculty concerns brought to
it by the representatives, making recommendations for program change to the
administration and sponsoring all approved student activities. Intramurals and Interscholastic Sports
1. An intramural
athletic program is provided for all 7th and 8th grade
students who wish to participate. 2. The intramural
program beginning at 3:00 p.m. is organized around teams in the respective
grade levels.
3. Space for
spectators is very limited so only staff and immediate families of the
participants are allowed to observe the indoor sports. Information will be
available through the Goodrich Activities Directors.
The yearbook is written and published by the yearbook class. Students have the
opportunity to write and design the yearbook and editorial material. The content must be approved by the yearbook
teacher. All students' pictures will be taken by a photographer at Goodrich
Middle School. The students purchasing a yearbook will receive them at the
close of the school year.
Clubs
Clubs are organized by different staff members as
special interests of students justify the time necessary to carry out the
activity and must be approved by the Lincoln Public Schools Middle School
Activities Council. Dances and social activities are held
from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. and sponsored by the Student Council. .
