GOODRICH HISTORY

Goodrich Middle School opened in 1969. Goodrich was named after Thomas V. Goodrich, a teacher and administrator in the Lincoln Public Schools from 1903 until 1947. The school mascot is the Olympians. The name "Olympians" was selected by the student body during the first year Goodrich School was open. The name was selected to represent the variety of activities offered at Goodrich School. The student body also compared Belmont, a high place overlooking the city of Lincoln, to Mount Olympus. The Olympic Rings are the official symbol of the school.

Currently Goodrich is a grade 6, 7, 8 middle school of approximately 750 students.
